When I was a child I used to call the enormous tree that grew next to my grandma's house, acacia. It had a beautiful shape and gave a great shade in the summer. The leaves when placed one above/under each other could set the scene for the whole story of a shadow theater. The sweet heavy scent preluded by a soft rustle of the top leaves used to follow us on the way to the forest. We used to collect small flowers in the middle of a summer, and the funny pods a few weeks later. Only recently one friend of mine, who is a Gardner, told me I should call that sort of tree; black locust or a false acacia, robinia pseudoacacia to be precise.

Although that day acacia had never been one, it will remain for me as the only proper one.

I wonder how many things we ve used to call in a certain way in our childhood, letting them build up our inner world, will never find its proper name.
